As always, another full weekend was had. As nice as it is, and the fact that it allows me to forget the j.o.b., by Monday I am so tired and burnt out. I know, these aren't really "problems", huh?
First and foremost, let's talk about my new blog design. Huge thanks to Angi for making my corner of the blog world look so nice! If you're looking to re-vamp yo' spot, contact Angi...her prices are pretty decent {compared to similar designers}, and I suggest if you are looking to take advantage now, as her portfolio seems to be growing pretty fast {well, in my opinion}.
I kicked off Friday Eve at Brio Tuscan Grille with Kari and Lauren. I have been to Brio before, but never to take advantage of their happy hour specials. From 4-7, and 9-close in the bar, Mon-Fri, they have some awesome specials; quite a few drinks for $5 and some tasty appetizers starting at $3.95.
I opted for a glass of chardonnay {as much as I wanted a glass of sangria, I knew the sugars weren't worth it}, and the bartender gave me a generous pour for the price. For eats, I ordered the Shrimptini {chilled shrimp cocktail}, and the Brio Chopped Salad...plus we girls shared our small plates. It was plenty of food, and a nice way to unwind. I can't wait to go back to Brio and try more dishes!
Friday, a few friends and I went to Jannus Live to see Authority Zero play. Years ago, I loved to go to live shows like this and see ska/punk bands. Fast forward four or five years, and I still had a blast! But also, can't hang like I used to, and don't have the time to do it often, either. But I am so glad I was able to go. The friends that came out, were the same people I went with to see shows like this back in the day, so it was a great night and brought back awesome memories. Even if it rained.
We celebrated my brother's birthday, Saturday night. The kid is now twenty-freaking-one, and it was weird going out to drink with him. But the place we went to in Safety Harbor, Norton's Eastside, was a chill sports bar, and we just hung out for a bit. It was actually a lot of fun. Happy Birthday, brother!
How was your weekend?

Looks like a great weekend! If I found $5 cocktails anywhere I would HAVE to jump on it though!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun filled weekend. I used to the be the queen of punk concerts. I miss those days sometimes. However, I think that's why I can't hear.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've never been there for happy hour, but I love their food! My brother will be 21 next year and that will be weird!
ReplyDeleteHad a blast with you and Kari for HH, the concert looked fun too even though it rained :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm living vicariously through your food and drink escapades. Ever since Cole and I decided that financially we need to stop going out to eat, I have to admit that I've TOTALLY missed those foods and drinks and the socialization that comes with it all.
ReplyDeleteit's so weird when younger siblings turn 21! my brother did last year and my sister did about a month ago, and it's just strange but cool to sit around with your whole family drinking lol.

Some chilled shrimp cocktail sounds devine right now.
ReplyDeleteI swear I did as many shots as my brother on his 21st. I was so ill.
looks like a fun weekend! and i LOVE your new design...seriously so cute!
ReplyDeleteWow! What a great weekend! You do more in one weekend than I think we do in months! :) So much fun. And now I want a giant glass of wine.
ReplyDeleteAw thanks for the shout out, chica! Glad you love it!
ReplyDeleteTalk about a busy weekend! I feel you on your brother turning 21. My "little" sister will be 28 in a few months and I still think it's weird to see her drinking and driving (not at the same time).
