Random Blogging

This is pretty much a random post as this week hasn’t had too much going on (for once). I have been on a job hunt though and have re-done my resume and that was quite the challenge. I do like my job that I have now, but we’re not very busy and being bored makes me feel like I am rotting my brain, lol…A major insurance company had an open house last night and I went to that (with rose colored glasses and high hopes) but the pay was something like $4 less/hour than I make now and the hours were 2-11 and it was 19 miles from my home, so that was a big NO for me. I wouldn't mind taking a paycut for something I thought was worth it, but this place wasn't "it" for me. I wish I could figure out what I want to "be" in life. Who else feels like they haven’t figured this out, yet? I’m twenty-seven (eek, almost 28) and still not sure. I don’t mind insurance but I don’t love it either. I love, love, love event planning but how do I get into that? Also, I do enjoy marketing and sales since I (kind of) do that now but not for just any product (I mean you won’t see me trying to sell Rays tickets or anything "sales-y" like that!). I even got my associates in Education and last year really wanted to become a teacher (until I started planning my wedding and fell in love with that. Oy), but a lot of my friends are teachers and have mixed feelings on the career and unfortunately when I did my observations, the teachers were all a bit….negative? All three teachers told me if they had a chance to go back and get their degrees in something else they would have (Ugh, thanks. I mean you do know I am considering this for a living, right?!) so then I became more indecisive. Again. I hope I can figure it out soon, I’d kind of like some babies in a few years.

But I am excited for the weekend! Hubs and I will not be on babysitting duty and have a date night planned! Thanks to a Groupon I have, we’ll have dinner at B.D.’s Mongolian Grill and see a free movie. Tomorrow, we’re hitting up an Oktoberfest in St. Petersburg that will no doubt be a great time. We went last year and had a blast and I expect to have a great time again, this year!
Last year at Oktoberfest

Sunday, I have a coffee date with the bestie and hoping for some lazy time too. All in all, sounds like a pretty decent weekend to me! Happy Friday, ya'll. What are your weekend plans?

  1. Girrrlll, I have no idea what I want to be either. At first it was Nursing and now I think I'm closer to a decision. I'm going back to school for my Masters in Public Administration. It's like an MBA, but for the public sector (non-profit and government and whatnot) and I'm hoping this is a good choice lol.
