Double Linky Weekend Recap

Interesting title, eh? But I figure I have some random thoughts in my head and some photos from the weekend, so I'll combine my two fave Monday link-ups and run with it!

Door to Door Sales:
Last week a kid came by and tried to sell J and I the weekly paper as a fundraiser so he could go on a trip.We declined and the kid suggested we send it to someone as a gift. Jason and I didn't have any cash, nor do we know where the checkbook is (I know, that's prob not a good thing) and then our "salesman" asked if we could take five minutes to look for our checkbook. Ha! Kid had moxie, ya'll. We didn't buy any newspapers, but I give him credit for his tenacity.

On clean, running water:
It has been ridiculously hot! Like requiring an extra shower kind of hot after going outside. For whatever reason, while I was taking shower numero dos on Saturday, I thought to myself, "There are people in the world that don't have the luxury of taking one let alone, two showers because they're hot and uncomfortable". I don't know why that thought popped into my head like that, but its true and I should probably express my gratitude in some way since I can forget how blessed I am, sometimes.

On becoming the wife of a law student:
Things are about to get crazy around here! Tomorrow, I'm posting about the whole process J and I have gone through.

This weekend had a good balance of busy and some R&R (though thanks to Kristin's post last week, I def won't say I did nothing this weekend! LOL).

Friday night, I was craving pizza and wings. But since pizza is pretty high carb (and fat), I found a recipe for portabella "pizza". I'm not saying it tasted just like pizza, but it was very satisfying and I will soo be making this again!

...Buffalo wings
Saturday, we babysat the little monsters for ten hours. Holy Hell was it a long and exhausting day! But it was mostly a good day, as well. My sister and her husband came over and we all made sugar cookies together. It was a fun activity that kept the kiddos entertained.

I don't own a rolling pin, so we improvised. Whatever...

Smiles, sprinkles and..sugar highs
After babysitting, Jason & I felt we more than deserved some adult bev's with friends and my sisters'. I didn't take any photos but it was good way to unwind!

Sunday, I took in two movies with some girlfriends. Two different types of movies, but both were very good. Go see them!

XOXO,
Nichole

  1. Oh girl... things ARE about to get crazy! But awesome, too. I LOVED law school, and hopefully your hubby does too. It was challenging but rewarding, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I had to. :)

To the extent you ever have any questions, I'm at your disposal. :)

  7. I see you caved and got the wings though! I used to work at a place that had the best (cheap) wings *sigh*...
I use Sandwich Thins to make mini-pizzas. You get the "crust" without feeling guilty.

  8. Ooh yum! Those "pizzas" look yummy. No one else in my house likes mushrooms (shame on them) but I would make these for me. I made zucchini pizzas once and loved them. I've been wanting to see both of those movies and you might have given me just enough of a push in the right direction. ;)
