Whole 30 - Day 23 {wiaw #8} #Whole30BlogChallenge

T-minus one week until we have completed our first Whole 30 Challenge at Casa de Crews! I can't not wait, ya'll. can.not.wait.

I say first, because I see us doing this again in 2014. I want to wait until we officially complete this first round, before sharing my thoughts, however.

Just know for now, that I feel a lot better, and my clothes are a tad loose, which makes Nikki one happy girl.

So, what are we eating this week as we near the end?

This hash is heavenly, and though it isn't the heavenly hash ice cream  I could go for right about now, it is quite tasty and our staple each morning. I make a huge batch on Sunday and then one of us makes the eggs each morning.

After reading Krystal's post about sweetening coffee with coconut milk, I had to try. I miss my sweet "milkshake" of a coffee and the sugar free chemicals creamers I flavored my them with. I will say that the coconut milk does help, but since it's pricey for a can {and I get three coffees from one can; old habits die hard}, I have stuck to coffee on weekends only, and tea during the week.

Lunch/Dinner:

typical "dessert" after dinner, or gym

zucchini noodles with meat sauce

more of steph's chicken stir-fried with broccoli slaw

salad bar dinner from whole foods. this was last friday. how cool are we?

A lot of the same dishes because I am lazy, but I did add two new meals this week:

chicken wings...recipe coming, soon!

grilled garlic and rosemary steak, with greek cauli-rice
Throughout the Whole 30, you're encouraged not to count calories, and so I haven't, but I think some days I may not eat enough. After we complete this, I do plan to count calories again, but will definitely stick to whole, "clean" foods, way more often than before.

So tell me, what are you eating this week?

  1. I'm interested in the wings recipe! We always do wings on Superbowl Sunday (even though we don't really watch the game). Have you tried the cartons of coconut milk you get in the health food aisle? They're about a quart for $2 here. We like those for coffee.
